About the Real Scania R440

The Scania R-series launched on 31 March 2004 as the successor to the 4-series, and for Latin America it was built at Scania's São Bernardo do Campo plant as the "Série Evolução", using the maker's PRT-range engines. The R440 — 440 hp — was one of the range's popular heavy-tractor ratings, sold in Brazil in Euro-5 form from around 2010 until Euro-5 truck production wound down in the early 2020s. A modern long-haul benchmark praised for driver comfort and efficiency, the R-series is a familiar sight pulling semi-trailers across Brazil's highways. The range is also produced in Europe, where it originated.
