About the Real FNM

Fábrica Nacional de Motores (FNM) — affectionately the "FeNeMê" — was Brazil's first truck manufacturer, building Alfa Romeo-designed diesel trucks at Xerém in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro from the late 1950s. Its rugged cab-over haulers, led by the D-11000, became icons of Brazil's mid-century industrial boom, prized for durability on the country's still-developing roads. This mod recreates a bi-truck (8x2) configuration of that classic FNM, the twin rear axle adding load capacity for heavier cargo. FNM stayed in production under Alfa Romeo and later Fiat control until the marque faded from Brazilian roads in the mid-1970s.
