About the Real Mercedes-Benz 1720

The Mercedes-Benz 1720 is a Brazilian medium-heavy truck — in Mercedes-Benz's naming, a 17-tonne class vehicle with around 200 hp, drawn from the OM 366LA inline-six diesel. Built by Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, the L-series trucks with the OM 366 family stayed in production in the country for decades, remaining on sale well into the 2000s. Configured here as a "caminhão de bebidas", it carries the side-bay body used to distribute crates of drinks to bars, shops and supermarkets — one of the most recognizable working trucks on Brazilian city streets.
