About the Real Chevrolet D40

The Chevrolet D40 was General Motors do Brasil's light-to-medium truck, launched in October 1985 for the 1986 model year and produced until October 1996. It shared its rugged square styling with the D20 pickup family, starting life with a Perkins diesel before switching to the Maxion S4 engine in 1992, after which GM gradually renamed the line "6000". A familiar workhorse on Brazilian farms, in small cities and light fleets, the D40 is remembered today as a durable, easily maintained classic and remains a favorite among Brazilian truck enthusiasts.
